FAQ
Microblading
Q. WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
A. Microblading (or eyebrow embroidery) is a relatively new, manual method used to create individual hair strokes. This look is accomplished by using a row of very fine needles to deposit pigment into the epidermis. This method is ideal for those looking to enhance or build upon their eyebrows, along with those with minimal to no brows present. This method allows me to create a very natural looking brow with individual, precise hair strokes.
Q. How Many Sessions Are Needed?
A. For most clients , a minimum of two treatments are usually needed, at least 6-10 weeks apart. With most procedures, the color will lighten and soften after the first week. At the second session we will assess the color retention and make any necessary adjustments. Everyone heals differently and at different rates. If the area does not heal perfectly the first time, do not stress about the outcome. We can go darker and add more density at your next appointment.
Q. What are the microblading Pre-Procedure Instructions?
- Cease using any skin thinners (Vitamin A, glycolic acids, exfoliation) for 3 weeks prior to your appointment.
- Cosmetic Botox or fillers may effect muscle movement & should be done after your microblading procedure(s).
- DO NOT consume alcohol, caffeine or take any blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, Niacin, fish oil 72 hours before your procedure, this may cause excess bleeding and may affect your results).
- You may come in with how you normally draw in your brows/bring samples of brow shapes you like to the appointment.
- You may experience hypersensitivity and more pain around or during your menstrual cycle.
- Cease using hair growth serums, they will stimulate more blood flow to the area and cause excessive bleeding.
- We will not be able to tattoo over any blemishes, sores, and moles in or around the brow area.
- It is recommended to wash your hair before your appointment to help prevent your brows from getting wet in the shower the next several days(this does NOT mean you cannot wash your hair during the healing process, just helps as a precaution for the fist few days of healing).
Q. What can i Expect During my microblading Appointment?
- Client consultation choosing an eyebrow shape and color
- 45-minute numbing process using lidocaine topical
- Measure and mark brow shape using a waterproof pencil
- The pigment is applied with a manual tool and chosen pigment color
- Pigment is left to absorb
- Cleaning of the area and apply a numbing gel
- Repeat steps 4-6 one to two more times
- Entire treatment normally takes 120-150 minutes
Q. What can i Expect After my microblading Procedure?
- It is possible to experience redness and to swell up to 48 hours after the procedure.
- The treated area will appear much darker and bold due to the oxidation process during the healing period.
- If the area is kept clean and dry then only a light pigment film (not thick scab) will appear after 4-7 days.
- As the area heals it will become dry and itchy.
- As the pigment film starts to flake off DO NOT pick, scratch, itch or pull off any of the areas which are peeling.
- Choosing to pick at flakes and peeling areas will pull out pigment, and result in spots left without any pigment or in some cases scarring.
- As the area continues to heal, a softer more natural result will be revealed underneath.
- Please note that within the first six weeks the amount of pigment that you see can seem very faint. It may seem like the pigment has been lost; please be advised that the skin regenerates the pigment, and the healing process can in some cases hide the lines completely. You must allow the full healing time of 6 weeks to see the true color and saturation.
Q. What does the tool look like that is used in the procedure?
Permanent Eyeliner
Q. WHAT IS PERMANENT EYELINER?
A. Permanent Eyeliner frames the eyes and can make eyelashes appear thicker, darker and fuller. It eliminates the need to apply eyeliner with (makeup) pencil or liquid eyeliner. It can enhance the shape or balance the symmetry of an individual eyes, create the illusion of larger eyes, or affect how the spacing of the eyes is perceived. Permanent Eyeliner can also enhance or intensify eye color and make eyes appear brighter.
For those who like a more natural look, eyeliner is enhanced on the base of the lashes making it appear as though you have full and thick lashes.
For those who like a more dramatic look. Depending on the individual skin, permanent makeup eyeliner can be build up to the desired thickness over the course of multiple sessions.
The procedure is done in two appointments. During the first session i err on the side of caution with thickness, length and color as we can always add more at the second session. It's always a good idea to have a "natural" and "conservative" amount of permanent eyeliner applied, at least during your first session.
Q. what are the permanent EYELINER Pre-Procedure Instructions?
- NO faux lashes. They have to be removed at least 2 weeks prior to the appointment and can’t be put back on until 2 weeks after the touch up.
- NO lash serums for at least one month before.
- DO NOT wear contact lenses during the procedure or for 24hrs after.
- Eyes may be light sensitive, bring sunglasses to wear home.
- NO lash lifts/tints at least 2 weeks prior and MUST wait 2 weeks after.
- DO NOT use eyelash curler the day of the procedure.
- If you have had any type of eye surgery, consult with your physician about how long you should wait before having Lash Enhancement done.
- Your are NOT a candidate if you have extremely sensitive watery eyes & glaucoma(excessive tears will not allow the pigment to properly hold in the skin).
- Cease using any skin thinners (Vitamin A, glycolic acids, exfoliation) for 3 weeks prior to your appointment.
- DO NOT consume alcohol, caffeine or take any blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, Niacin, fish oil 72 hours before your procedure, this may cause excess bleeding and may affect your results).
- You may experience hypersensitivity and more pain around or during your menstrual cycle.
- Cease using hair growth serums, they will stimulate more blood flow to the area and cause excessive bleeding.
- We will not be able to tattoo over any blemishes, sores, and moles in or around the brow area.
- It is recommended to wash your hair before your appointment to help prevent your eyes from getting wet in the shower the next several days(this does NOT mean you cannot wash your hair during the healing process, just helps as a precaution for the fist few days of healing).
Lip Blush
Q. WHAT IS LIP BLUSH?
A. Lip Blush Tattoo is either a great alternative to fillers or surgery or it can be done in conjunction with these procedures. Many of our clients do both to maximize the effectiveness of lip enhancement treatments.
Whether it is the lip design, shape or color you are interested in, this can help. The lip enhancement includes a soft blending into the lips so there is no line of demarcation. It will enhance the fullness of the lips. This is done in two sessions.
- Lips appear more defined without surgery or fillers
- Restores color to lips that have become pale
- Corrects Blurred lip lines
- Covers scars and hypo-pigmentation
- No more “bleeding” lipsticks
- Make lips appear fuller and larger
- Eliminates the daily use of pencils to outline, fill-in, or reshaping lip borders

Q. What Is The Difference Between Cosmetic Tattooing and Standard Body Tattooing?
A. The purpose of cosmetic tattooing is to enhance the natural features of the face. Cosmetic Tattooing is softer and more subtle because of natural “pigments" used instead of “ink”. These pigments are designed to gently soften and fade over time. Fading is desired as it allows the artist to make changes with color, shape and method over the years as the client’s natural coloration and facial changes occur.
Q. Does Cosmetic Tattooing Hurt?
A. A highly effective numbing cream and topical gel and used before and during the procedure. Pain levels vary from person to person but every effort is made to ensure the client remain comfortable during the procedure. Procedures performed during ones menstrual cycle may increase discomfort and sensitivity. Topical numbing agents do not work as well on clients who smoke regularly, so be aware that this may affect tolerance levels during the procedure as well.
Q. What factors will affect the cosmetic tattoo?
- Sun exposure: The sun will soften and fade the area dramatically, so sunblock should be used (once healed) to prolong the vibrancy.
- The regeneration of skin cells: The longer the regeneration takes, the longer the pigment will hold.
- Glycol and retinol products
- Mechanical or chemical treatments (chemical peels, dermabrasion, laser, mesotherapy)
- The choice of color: Some colors fade quicker than others, as well as the amount of pigment applied to the area. Brows with a lighter, more subtle look will fade out quicker than a darker more dramatic application.
- Bleeding during the procedure: Any bleeding during the procedure will reduce the amount of pigment absorption. This is why alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen or any type of blood thinner should NOT be taken prior to and following your apt.
- Scars and scar tissue from previous cosmetic tattooing
- Skin density, age and elasticity
- Weak after care
